I recently stayed at YHA Helvellyn for a few days to explore the beautiful Helvellyn hills. The location was fantastic, surrounded by stunning mountain views and only a short stroll to the village of Glenridding and Ullswater. The hostel provided clean rooms and comfortable beds, with excellent showers and a well-equipped kitchen. I loved the peaceful atmosphere and the chance to spot the beautiful Herdwick sheep in the gardens. The upcoming refurbishment promises an even better stay. a great experience.
Would definitely recommend this hostel.

The location of this hostel is absolutely perfect for a wonderful trek up Helvellyn. the short drive up a track from the village is convenient, especially with the handy carpark available. the staff at the hostel are friendly and helpful, providing a welcoming atmosphere. One of the best aspects of this place is the delicious food offered, making mealtimes a delight. the comfortable beds ensure a good night's sleep after a tough hike.
One of the negative aspects of my stay was that the room was quite hot. Although the radiator was off, the hot water pipe running through the room made it uncomfortably warm.

The location of the hotel was absolutely stunning, nestled in the hills and offering breathtaking views. It was the perfect starting point for a variety of beautiful walks and hikes. The staff were friendly and helpful during our stay, ensuring that we had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the self-catering kitchen facilities, which were well-equipped and clean.
The road leading up to the hotel was quite challenging, with a rocky dirt trail that was difficult to navigate. It would be helpful for future guests to be aware of this, particularly if they are driving.

The location of the hostel was fantastic, offering great views of the surrounding area. the staff were friendly and professional, and the beds were comfortable with clean white bedding. the hostel also provided free drinking water and had easy parking facilities.
The facilities were very basic and lacked certain amenities. the shower had low water pressure and was uncomfortable to use, and the rooms on the first floor were too hot due to the hot water pipes running through them.
